    Base Sauna

A proper Finnish sauna, yours alone for the whole session. A sauna room where you can pour löyly, and a cold bath filled with Kusatsu’s cold water. Room enough for up to three guests to take their time.

Hygge Haus Kusatsu is a small house of eight rooms, small enough that each party keeps its own quiet. Warm through, cool down in the cold bath, rest, and get back into the water — all at your own pace.

    How to spend it

    1. Warm throughStart in the sauna and let the heat reach the core. Do not push it — stop while it still feels good.
    2. Cool downLet the cold bath take the heat out of your body. No hurry, until your breathing settles.
    3. RestTime spent just sitting, until your breath is even again. This is the quietest part.
    4. Get into the waterFinish slowly in the onsen. There is both a sauna and a hot spring here.
