Is there an onsen?
There are four private baths of 100% natural hot spring, flowing 24 hours a day in the house — Haru, Natsu, Aki and Huyu. They are open 24 hours and need no reservation.
What kind of spring water is it?
All four baths are fed straight from the source. The source is Bandaiko, and the water is an acidic hydrogen–sulfate / chloride spring (hypotonic, acidic, high-temperature). Please see

Is there a sauna too?
There is. The sauna in the house is called
Base Sauna — a proper Finnish sauna, reserved for your group alone. Please see the
sauna page.
Can children use them?
Stays are limited to guests aged 12 and over, so the baths and sauna are also for guests aged 12 and over.
Is the sauna private?
It is reserved for your group alone. It takes up to three guests.
How much is the sauna?
JPY 2,000 for 50 minutes, and it is entirely private. That price is for up to two guests; from the third guest, JPY 500 per person is added. Each sauna guest receives one bath towel and one bottle of water (500 ml). We hand you the sauna key when you use it; afterwards, please return the towels together with the key to the front desk.
How do I book the sauna?
It can be used from 15:00, after check-in, until 22:00. Let us know your preferred time in advance, or ask at the front desk at or after check-in.
Is there a cold bath?
There is a cold bath, filled with Kusatsu’s cold water. It is around 15–20 °C, varying with the season. There is a bench to rest on.
How hot is the sauna?
It is set to 100 °C; the actual temperature in the room is around 90 °C.
Can I pour löyly?
Yes — you can pour water over the stones yourself. Please use only the water provided in the sauna room.
Do I get a towel for the sauna?
Each sauna guest receives one bath towel and one bottle of water (500 ml). We hand you the sauna key when you use it; afterwards, please return the towels together with the key to the front desk. We do not lend sauna hats or other sauna items. A yukata is provided in the room.
Is it all right to use it after drinking?
Using the sauna or bathing after drinking is genuinely dangerous, so please do not. The same goes for when you are unwell.
